rough around the edges
Sweater: Eddie Baur (similar style here); Dress: Asos (from last year, similar style here); Boots: Isabel Marant; Hat: J.Crew (old, but dying for this version here); Bag: Saint Laurent; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
These. Boots. Where to start? I've been eyeing this pair of Marants since her Fall 2014 collection debuted, debating when and for how much they would go on sale for. As luck would have it, I popped into one of my favorite San Francisco boutiques, Curve, this past weekend to find their last pair, in my size, at 70% off. Kismet, no?
I love how they add a little bit of punk to an otherwise demure outfit, a huge reason why I admire her work so much in the first place. It's equal parts "it" Parisian girl, bohemian, with a dash of edgy punk. Rough around the edges so to speak.

museum hopping
Jacket: Alexander McQueen; Dress: Altuzarra for Target; Shoes: Manolo Blahnik; Bag: Saint Laurent; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Lips: Stila "Beso"; Watch: Daniel Wellington; Necklace: Jennifer Zeuner
After living in San Francisco for the past 5 years (my anniversary comes up this February!), I've accumulated quite the list of favorite haunts and stomping grounds, from restaurants to parks, bars to hikes around the Bay. Without a doubt, the de Young Museum nestled in the heart of Golden Gate Park, has to be one of my all-time favorites. I remember visiting it years ago during one of my first, "big-girl" weekends of exploring my new city and leaving completely smitten with the plaza that sits between the de Young and the California Academy of Sciences. It's riddled with trees, benches where friends and lovers can sit, fountains sprinkled throughout and an undeniable Parisian weekend vibe that's utterly addicting. I could sit out there for hours (and have on occasion to read books and people watch).
This past weekend, we trekked out to the de Young for the Keith Haring exhibit, which I highly recommend you make it out for, if you happen to be in the area. And speaking of favorite haunts, I think it may be time to update my San Francisco favorite lists. If you recall, I've rounded up my favorite shopping and dining spots here and here respectively. Perhaps a third installment is in order. Stay tuned...

monochromatic
Jacket: IRO; Sweater: Everlane; Jeans: J.Brand; Shoes: Saint Laurent; Bag: Saint Laurent; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Necklace: Givenchy; Watch: Daniel Wellington
The past few weeks, I've been living in different renditions of this outfit, particularly with this jacket and these jeans being the primary MVPs. To be completely honest, I've always been a bit on the fence about grey jeans in general, as they tend to have a borderline acid wash finish in my opinion, but ever since stumbling upon this photo of Emmanuelle Alt, I've been whistling a different tune entirely.

those white manolos...
Jacket: Alexander McQueen (similar style here); Shirt: Equipment; Jeans: J.Brand; Shoes: Manolo Blahnik; Bag: Saint Laurent via The RealReal; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Ever since my white J.W. Anderson for Aldo heels took a turn for the worse this past summer (moment of silence), I've been searching high and low for the perfect white heel. It's a tall order, especially when white in this style tends to veer more into satin territory and I had my heart set on leather. When I came across these Manolos at (where else?) Jeremy's a few weekends back for a steal of a price, I couldn't believe my luck. Needless to say, they've been difficult to pry off my feet since.

an oscar moment
Dress: Oscar de la Renta borrowed from TheRealReal; Shoes: Manolo Blahnik; Clutch: Charlotte Olympia; Sunglasses: Saint Laurent; Bracelets: Vita Fede; Belt: Gap; Earrings: BaubleBar
This past weekend was one of those weekends that made me fall in love with San Francisco all over again. Don't you just love moments of clarity like that? I've been craving it lately.
After battling a week-long cold last week (sorry for the radio silence around here, I could barely talk most days!), I was able to muster through enough Emergen-C and cough drops, throw on this unbelievably twirl-worthy Oscar de la Renta dress on loan from The RealReal and head to our team holiday masquerade party (a dinner cruise to boot!).
There's something about the right dress sometimes that makes a night come alive and this particular one certainly didn't disappoint. We cruised into the Bay around Alcatraz and then under a glowing (but deserted) Golden Gate Bridge, which was closed for construction for the first time in ages, and simply admired the city from afar. After docking back at the pier, we ducked into Rickhouse for a late nightcap -- enjoying the comfort that only a cozy corner booth can offer. And this dress? Well I may not want to part with it just yet. Oscar certainly knew how to make them, didn't he?
How was your weekend?

i'll have what she's having {sick day shopping}
Per usual, I've caught a bit of a bug at the tail end of our holiday break. Which means one thing really: lots of sale shopping from bed. Here are a few of my favorites (just tip of the iceberg really) from the Net-A-Porter sale.

have books {will travel}
When it comes to reading, I've always been the girl with a book (or two) stowed away in her bag, picking it up whenever she has downtime. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), what I've come to find is that I get my best reading done while traveling. I literally devour books when I'm on vacation. Case in point: I blazed through 5 books during one leg of our trip in Turkey (and then struggled to figure out how to carry them all back home).
Since 2014 was a big travel year for me (all of which you can see recapped here), I wanted to share a few of my favorite books that have seen me through multiple take offs, landings, customs lines, beaches and cities, from hopping around London to cruising with Princess Cruises in the Caribbean. With 2015 already here (2 days in!), I'm getting my next batch of reading together for a few upcoming trips. Any recommendations?
This post was in collaboration with Princess Cruises. As always, all opinions and styling are my own. Thank you for supporting all This Time Tomorrow collaborations!
