boardwalkin'

Cover up: Etoile Isabel Marant borrowed from The RealReal; Hat: J.Crew; Bathing suit: Mikoh; Sunglasses: Target

From here on out, I'm going to try my best to always cap off my vacations with dedicated Lounge time, with a capital L. After trekking all over Istanbul and adventuring around Cappadocia, Bodrum was a welcome respite where we got lost in a book or two (OK, maybe 4)  and sipped one too many fruity cocktails on the beach, our only concern being to make sure we applied sunscreen every hour, on the hour.

Plus, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad bit excited to test drive this Mikoh swimsuit out. I've never been much of a one piece gal so I love how this design throws a traditional swimsuit for a loop. In case you're looking for a little extra lounge time before summer leaves us for good, here are a few of my other favorites...

a day at the polo fields

Dress: Suno via The RealReal; Shoes: Yves Saint Laurent; Sunglasses: Target; Clutch: Olympia Le-Tan (similar style on sale here, love this Kate Spade version here); Bracelet: Gorjana

Although I'm still going through some serious vacation withdrawals after returning from Turkey last week, I have to admit, there's something so sweet about coming home to the Bay Area, especially this time of year when our late blooming Indian summer really kicks in. The city just takes on this magical glow -- the fog burns away a bit faster in the mornings, our beaches actually beckon you to venture out in a bathing suit and wine country calls your name (just a bit louder than usual).

The only way to sweeten the deal really, is when the gracious St. Regis crew invites you out for their inaugural polo cup tournament in Sonoma, which is exactly what I did this past weekend. And let me just say, I think my jet lag has met it's match! We sipped plenty of delicious local wines, participated in my first divot stomp and enjoyed an almost too perfect sunset before our alfresco dinner at Hamel Family Wines (where these photos were taken). Huge thanks again to the St. Regis team for having me -- this weekend was the perfect homecoming treat.

far, far away

Dress: Isabel Marant, last seen here (similar style here); Boots: Isabel Marant; Sunglasses: Target; Watch: Daniel Wellington; Bracelet: Gorjana

What I loved, and probably what fascinated me most about our trip, were the moments that left us feeling worlds away from home. When we landed in Cappadocia, I knew we'd be in for exactly that. Cappadocia is smack dab in the middle of Turkey and drastically different from Istanbul -- where Istanbul is a sprawling, bustling and loud city, almost bursting at the seams with activity, Cappadocia is much more remote with an austere, surreal beauty to it. The valley is sprinkled with volcanic peaks, a lot of which were originally homes, town centers and temples years ago -- you can even spot an occasional window or doorway while hiking around. It's as if you're wandering through an expansive ghost town of cave dwellings.

Heather and I decided to trek out on our own for an afternoon hike and ultimately ended up battling a steep climb at the end. With me in ankle boots and her in sandal slides no less, we were certainly happy to see the view once we got up top. Absolutely breathtaking and oh, so worth it.

More to come on Cappadocia (and the rest of our trip) next week in my three-part Turkey travel series. Stay tuned!

whirling

Dress: Saint Laurent borrowed from The RealReal; Shoes: Valentino (thinking about getting this pair); Wallet: Emerson Fry; Sunglasses: Target; Lips: Stila "Beso"; Watch: Daniel Wellington

As I'm writing this, we're getting ready for our final night in Istanbul. Almost three weeks, four bags between us and countless flights later, we've hopped all over Turkey and I'm so sad to see it end. We've been planning this trip for what feels like forever now and I'm actually quite proud of everything we managed to fit in -- and yet, I still feel like we only really got a small taste of everything Turkey has to offer. There's so much more I'd love to experience and see and do here -- which of course, is all the more reason for a return trip.

When we were initially planning out a rough itinerary for the trip, one of my first must-sees was a whirling dervish performance, which I'm happy to report we squeezed in! It was a wildly dizzying (but enchanting) experience -- highly recommend if you're traveling through the area.

i'll have what she's having {pinpointed with ted baker}

Our whirlwind in Turkey is slowly (or perhaps all too quickly) coming to an end and I have to admit, after chasing some amazing summer sunsets over here while next to the Aegean Sea, I'm 100% ready for fall now. Something about oversized felt fedoras, sharp suit pairings and peek-a-boo lace with leather sounds all too appealing at the moment, even if that means covering up my newly acquired tan (sigh).

As with any new season, I love taking notes on items that I have my eye on -- a sartorial hit list if you will -- and am excited to be partnering with Ted Baker this time around for their Autumn/Winter collection. If there's any season the Brits do best (well, if we're being honest, their street style scene regardless of season is always killing it), it's definitely fall. If you're in the same "let's amp up for fall now" boat as me, head over to Pinterest where you can win a $800 Ted Baker shopping spree for you and a friend, simply by creating a fall lust list of your own. For inspiration, you can see my board here -- and don't forget to enter your board here to be considered eligible. Full rules and details can be found right this way.

Good luck and happy fall hunting!

This post was in collaboration with Ted Baker. As always, all opinions and styling are my own. Thank you for supporting posts that keep This Time Tomorrow's doors open!

well tiled

Shirt: Kit & Ace; Jeans: Parker Smith; Sandals: Witchery; Bag: Everlane; Hat: J.Crew; Watch: Daniel Wellington; Necklaces: Jennifer Zeuner

Y'all know me. When it comes to interiors, I'm very much of the "if it's black, white and gold, I'm all over it" train of thought. But this trip has me changing my tune, particularly in regards to hand painted tiles. For one of our first stops, shortly after the Blue Mosque, Heather and I were keen to see the Harem inside Topkapi Palace (I mean, have you ever been in a Harem? Me either!).

As I mentioned before, I'll be sharing a much longer recap of our trip in a later post, but the tile work inside the palace is just too good not to share a little peek beforehand. Cerulean blues. Dusty rose pinks. Antique golds. The colors were just spectacular and sometimes covered entire rooms, floor to ceiling. To say I didn't want to leave and just wanted to curl up in a room to take it all in, would be a serious understatement.

the wanderers

Dress: Proenza Schouler via The RealReal; Boots: Isabel Marant; Bag: Everlane; Sunglasses: Target; Watch: Daniel Wellington

Merhaba from Turkey! I have to say, this trip has been exactly what I needed. A great mix of culture, adventure and relaxation (we're heading to the beaches of Bodrum today for just that!). Luckily, we hit Turkey at a sweet spot right after summer has wrapped, but before fall has truly settled in. We've battled a few rainy days here and there, but overall, far less crowds and a lot more local flare.

These photos are from one of our first full days running around Istanbul. While I have a lengthy travel diary in the works for each leg of our trip (likely to hit the blog after I return to the States), I wanted to share some of my outfits along the way. One of our first itinerary stops included the Blue Mosque, pictured here, which was, without a doubt, absolutely enchanting. The intricate tile work, the melody of the prayer call, the architecture! It still gives me chills to think about it.

i'll have what she's having {#notatnyfw}

While I'm not in the midst of NYFW madness like I usually am this time of year, it doesn't mean I haven't packed a proverbial suitcase for the occasion in my mind. High on the list? Well a few of these lovelies will do just fine, thank you very much. Especially have my eye (ha, get it?) on those Chrissie Morris heels.

As for my actual suitcase at the moment, we're currently packing up to leave Istanbul to head over to Cappadocia for a few days (where I cannot wait to ride in a hot air balloon!), before hopping over to Bodrum for some much needed R&R (cocktail in hand, hopefully).

like, whoa

Shirt: Kit & Ace; Shorts: Asos; Shoes: Jenni Kayne; Backpack: Asos; Flannel: Levis (similar style here); Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Necklace: Givenchy; Watch: Daniel Wellington; Rings: Jennifer Zeuner, Alexa Leigh

I typically try to minimize my throwback nods in any given outfit, but for some reason, the circa 90s Seattle-esque flannel and slouchy slung backpack seemed to just work together. Albeit, in a Joey Lawrence kind of way, but I'm OK with it.

On a side note, regular programming may be a bit bumpy around here while I'm hopping around Turkey over the next few weeks. Head over to Instagram for the most current updates! And as always, thank you so much for reading!
